Last class we explored our own diets and learned that most of what we eat is made of carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids (fats). Today we are going to zoom in closely to look at what these macromolecules are made of, and how our bodies use them. Use the Macromolecules Notes page to create a summary of structures and functions of our three favorite foods (proteins, carbs, and fats!)
We will also start watching "That Sugar Film" (click on this link to watch for free!), which is a documentary about an Australian man who increases the amount of sugar in his diet to see what happens to his health and wellbeing. It's a fun movie that helps to show how these tiny macromolecules can have a big impact on our lives!
