Proteins Matter, and So Do You!
We have learned a lot about DNA structure, and the fact that it holds important instructions (genes) for our cells. But how exactly does DNA give us different traits? The answer is proteins!
Today we will learn about Protein Synthesis (how proteins are made). We will follow the protein synthesis roadmap, which takes us on the following journey: DNA -> RNA -> Amino Acids -> Proteins -> Traits. By the end of this class you will understand how DNA instructions are used in our cells, why proteins are so important, and how ribosomes build up these proteins from amino acids. At the end of class we will play a fun game where you will use your knowledge of protein synthesis to unlock treasure boxes!!
