What Traits Did YOU Inherit??

Why could you have brown eyes, even if your mother has blue eyes? Why could a black rabbit and a white rabbit have gray babies? What's the deal with skin color and height? These are great questions!

Today we will start by learning about how complex traits are passed from parents to babies. By the end of class you should know the difference between complete dominance, incomplete dominance, and codominance. Quiz yourself on the back of your notes page.

We will then do a fun lab where you can learn whether or not you have the gene to taste a molecule in bitter foods called PTC, and how strong of a taster you are. You may have a scientific reason for hating broccoli after all! :)
